We are a vibrant community of rowing enthusiasts of all ages. Established in 1846, we are proud to continue the tradition of rowing on the Union Canal from our Meggetland boathouse in Edinburgh. As an open rowing club, our motto ‘Rowing for All’ drives everything we do, and rowers of all aspirations are welcomed, from junior and senior competitors to masters and recreational rowers.

So whether you want fun or fierce competition, or a mixture of both, whatever your aspiration, get in touch and we’ll look forward to welcoming you.

Junior

For ages 12-18, offering opportunities for all rowing abilities and ambitions, from those who wish to row/cox once a week on Sunday afternoon to those aspiring to GB team selection. Catering to 4 different groups for training and coaching.

Senior

For competitive athletes aiming to race at the highest level. Sessions are held at both Strathclyde Park and the Canal, with a focus on performance, technical development, and high-intensity training.

Racing Master

For rowers aged 27+ wanting to train and race at competitive masters events. With sessions at Strathclyde Park and the Canal, this squad provides a focused and supportive environment for athletes looking to challenge themselves on the racing circuit.

Club & Club Master

For experienced rowers seeking a more relaxed and flexible approach to training. While still active in racing, the focus is on local and regional events, with training based primarily on the Canal and tailored to fit around other life commitments.
