New Boatshed, new opportunities

When the new boathouse opened back in 2022, we were able to turn part of the old boathouse into a handy workshop space.

Now, our boatshed volunteers have a great spot to roll up their sleeves and tackle a wide range of tasks.

Their work keeps our boats floating and ready for adventures – not to mention, keeping them busy and out of mischief!

DIY That Pays Off

Our team help reduce the Club’s maintenance costs by taking on a wide range of boat care tasks.

Repairing parts – dents, dings & usual suspects
   Replacing components when needed
Refurbishing whole boats from bow to stern

Repair, paint, tea (and biscuits), repeat

With the help of teams of volunteers from the Club we also organise the painting and marking of the Club’s oars.

The core group of volunteers are generally around on Wednesday afternoons, and are always happy to welcome new members. The mid-afternoon tea break is an important part of the day.

Why Not Get Involved?

No special knowledge of boat maintenance is necessary, but some basic diy skills are helpful. The group has a range of knowledge which we are happy to pass on.

Join us on a Wednesday afternoon or whenever help is needed – we’d love to have you!
