Rowing For All

The Junior squad caters for around 50 juniors aged 12-18 most of whom start aged 12-14 on one of our Junior Induction Programmes.

We offer opportunities for all rowing abilities and ambitions, from those who wish to row/cox once a week on Sunday afternoon to those aspiring to GB team selection.

To ensure everyone is appropriately supported, we have 4 different groups for training and coaching purposes based on the criteria shown in our junior pathways.

Learn To Row

Our Junior Induction Programmes run in the Easter, Summer and October school holidays, every morning for a week.

A balanced introduction to boats and other equipment.

Following programme completion, juniors join the Developer group to improve their rowing skills, and work on strength and fitness. Thereafter, they may choose the Recreational pathway which is focussed on enjoyment and races at regional events across Scotland or the Transition/Aspirant pathway which targets national and international level events.
