It is never too early or late in life to learn to row!

Hello my name is Ed Ambrose and I run the St Andrew Boat Club Learn to Row (LTR) Programme

My personal journey into rowing began in 2012 when my son took up rowing and I spent a few years subsequently watching him rowing up and down various bodies of water thinking that looks fun!

With no prior experience I was persuaded at the Club’s annual summer garden party that I should enrol onto the next adult LTR, loved it, and have been rowing ever since. Here I am sitting in 3 seat, in a quad, at a recent Scottish Regatta.

For our junior squad, Neil MacFarlane is the Learn to Row Coordinator and runs programmes in school holidays. Having learnt to row at George Watson’s in 1969, he has gained much experience over the past years as well as joining the coaching team in 2010 as well as becoming an umpire in 1984.

Our club is very sociable and welcoming to all and if you are interested in learning to row I look forward to hearing from you below.
