St Andrew Boat Club rowers raced onto the winners’ podium at the first British Rowing Virtual Championships.

Junior Rower Polly Dickson-Smith came third in the Year 7 G 2 minute race, after rowing 498 metres.

Colin Williamson also raced into the medal positions, reaching third place in the A final of the M30 2000m category.

Juniors Benjamin Nussey and Freddy Foxwell both delivered an impressive performance, too, making the A finals of the Year 11 B 6 minutes and the Year 10 5 minutes races, respectively.

Brought about by the coronavirus lockdown, the BRVC took place on 27 and 28 June, and saw hundreds of rowers from across the world compete on Concept 2 rowing machines from their homes.
